<h2 id="Setup" id="setup-install-the-required-dependencies" >Setup, Install the required dependencies</h2>



<p>In order to install the required dependencies, you need to enter the following:</p>



<pre class="wp-block-code"><code>apt-get update
apt-get -y install screen python-cherrypy3 rdiff-backup git openjdk-7-jre-headless</code></pre>



<p>Create a directory and download MineOS. To do this, please use the following command:</p>



<pre class="wp-block-code"><code>mkdir -p /usr/games
cd /usr/games git clone git://github.com/hexparrot/mineos minecraft cd minecraft git config core.filemode false chmod +x server.py mineos_console.py generate-sslcert.sh

ln -s /usr/games/minecraft/mineos_console.py /usr/local/bin/mineos</code></pre>



<p>Copy files and adjust permissions by following command:</p>

<h2 id="create-a-self-signed-certificate-for-https" >Create a self-signed certificate for HTTPS</h2>

<h2 id="then-you-need-to-start-mineos" >Then you need to start MineOS</h2>

<p>Create a user</p>



<pre class="wp-block-code"><code>adduser &lt;anyname&gt;</code></pre>



<p>Then, log into the web interface. Go to<strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> https://yourip:</span></em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>8888</em></span></strong> Then your browser will ask if you want to connect because of the self-signed certificate. Confirm the connection. Log in using your root credentials.</p>



<p>Customize Minecraft.</p>



<ol><li><strong>In the left pane, click Manage Profiles and create at least one server profile.</strong></li><li><strong>Click update profile.</strong></li><li><strong>Log out as root.</strong></li></ol>



<p>Create a server.</p>



<ol><li><strong>Log in as the user you created earlier.</strong></li><li><strong>Click Create New Server in the left pane.</strong></li><li><strong>Fill in the settings of your Minecraft server.</strong></li><li><strong>Click &#8220;Control Panel&#8221; in the left pane.</strong></li><li><strong>Select your server.</strong></li><li><strong>Click Start.</strong></li></ol>



<p>If all steps were followed correctly, then your server will start. Then you will have the following &#8211; <strong>&#8220;-1&#8221; for &#8220;Players Online&#8221;.</strong> <em><strong>This will become 0</strong></em><strong>. </strong>After that, Connect to your server with its IP or domain name (if you created one) and port from the settings server. The default port is <strong>25565</strong>.</p>
